21.05.2007 "Supply chain management in Russian businesses" Research Seminar

We invite corporate managers and purchasing directors, as well as researchers and experts to take part in the international Russian-Finnish seminar on supply chain management in Russian firms. The media support for the seminar will be covered by the Growth Management Journal (Æóðíàë "Ìåíåäæìåíò ðîñòà").Prof. Sergey P. Kousch, GSM SPbSU, will chair the seminar and present the results of his recent studies of supply chain management strategies and practices in Russia.

Research seminar will be organized as a one-day event on June 15, 2007 at 3, room 222, Volkhovsky pereulok, St. Petersburg, Russia

25.03.2010 3rd Annual Academic Conference «Contemporary Problems in Management: Exploring the Boundaries of Management Science» will be hosted by the Faculty of Management, SU-HSE in Moscow, November 23-25, 2010

The 2010 Conference aims to create an academic forum that attracts researchers dealing with contemporary management issues and is organized with support of the Harvard Business Review Russia, the Russian edition of the pre-eminent management publication. Discusions will include tracks and roundtables organized by NoE. The main conference will be preceded by the Students' academic conference, aimed at supporting young researchers, which will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010.

The Conference invites electronic submissions of papers, which should be sent no later than September 1, 2010. The special early submission deadline is June 10, 2010.

29.12.2009 1st EMAC Regional Conference will take place in Hungary in September 2010

European Marketing Academy will host its first regional conference on September 24-25, 2010 in Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary. The conference entitled 'Marketing Theory Challenges in Emerging Societies' will highlight new theories of markets and marketing in transition economies.

Please, submit papers of up to 10 pages max., including tables and figures (the cover / title page, and references don't count). PhD colloquium (September 23) will precede the main conference and will be devoted to discussions of 15 PhD projects and special presentations on writing papers, academic research in marketing, and professional development. Deadline for all submissions is March 31, 2010.

18.12.2009 AMA 2010 will take place in Boston, MA on August 13-16

Next year AMA Summer educators' conference will be organized in Boston. The special theme, "The Role of Marketing in Creating Customer Value and Enhancing Societal Welfare", highlights challenges of marketing at the bottom of the pyramid, eco-food and other eco-products, digital technology and privacy in marketing, as well as the overall impact of marketing activities on the society.

Competitive papers and special session proposals are welcome by January 14, 2010. The deadline for final manuscript submission is to be anounced later.

28.11.2009 Overview of II Scientific Conference "Modern Management: Problems, Hypotheses, Research", November 24-26 Moscow

Progress in management research and methods, as well as prospects and plans for research projects were among hot topics for three days in November at the Faculty of Management, SU-HSE.

The main conference started with plenary on the second day, continued to tracks and concluded with Management Research Roundtable last day in the evening. In line with tradition, the first day was devoted to PhD colloquium and presentations of papers by graduate students.

This year's tracks emphasised marketing topics. Three tracks highlited marketing strategy, performance measurement and communication, three other tracks discussed strategic management and corporate governance, human resource management, project and innovation management, and one special track was devoted to management in education.

Plenary was opened by the SU-HSE University Choir performance, and welcome speeches by Faculty of Management Dean Nikolay Filinov and RAS Associate Academician Georgyi Kleiner.

Plenary speakers presented seven papers. The first two studied retail development in Russia and in Germany. Vadim Radaev (SU-HSE) reported the results of his recent research and presented his critique of the recently debated Trade Law draft, while Jon Hanf (IAMO, Germany) explored expansion of global retail networks in CEE region.

Next, four papers were presented by SU-HSE Faculty of Management Professors. Sergey Filonovich proposed a view on life-long learning and its role for future of Universities. Igor Gurkov, Igor Lipsitz and Azer Efendiev discussed Russian business in crisis and put forward strategic solutions.

In conclusion Ali Beba (Ozyegin University, Turkey) invited the audience to cooperate in joint European research projects on entrepreneurship.

Papers by NoE members concentrated in track 'New Directions for Marketing Management'. The hot topic was b2b interaction in value networks: five papers by researchers from Russia and Germany brought to surface issues of power, customer orientation and the role of brands in interfirm relations, coordination and change management in supply chains, as well as portfolio perspective on relations with stakeholders.

Other participants reported on their developments in b2b and b2c market research methods. Notably, one case showed how plain b2b study of market shares had eventually led participant firms to much closer cooperation. The track also included two papers on property protection and corporate governance.




14.11.2009 First IMP conference to be held in CEE region in 2010

26 IMP Conference will take place September 2-4, 2010 in Budapest, Hungary. This year conference's motto "Business Networks - Globality, Regionality, Locality" will promote studies of spatial dimensions of business network development.

Deadline for abstract submission is January 18, 2010. Subject to abstract acceptance, full papers are to be submitted by April 1. Please, register for the conference via electronic registration system.

07.11.2009 Irkutsk State University and Chair of Economics and Management at ISU will host Academic Conference «Economic readings» dedicated to 90-years anniversary of the Chair

In 1919 the first tenured professor for the Chair of Political Economy was employed at Irkutsk University. From this year onwards the University started teaching and research in economic theory. «Economic readings» will be dedicated to the 90 anniversary of the Chair and will provide a fresh politico-economic look on modern Russian development. Conference's general topics will include today's political economy and economic theory, practical economic issues, competitive and regulative aspects of economic system, and special topic on modern education and its peroformance.

26.10.2009 XI HSE International Academic Conference 'Economic and Social Development' will be hosted on April 6-8, 2010.

International 'April' conferences have been hosted by Higher School of Economics since 2000, and are dedicated to special topics of Russian economic modernization. This year the conference's special topics are 'Economic Modernization: markets, firms, and structural changes' and 'Preserving the Nation: demographic, socioeconomic, and political context'. The plenary sessions on April 6-7 and the special symposia within the conference (including selected reports, parallel sessions and round tables) will be devoted to these special themes. Registration is open till March 10, 2010 (paper submission from September 10 till November 16, 2009). For registration, please proceed to official conference website. 25.10.2009 II Scientific Conference "Modern Management: Problems, Hypotheses, Research" will be hosted by Faculty of Management, HSE in Moscow, November 24-26, 2009

The goal of this conference is to foster scientific research in management by bringing together scholars working in the field, and to maximize the amount and level of interaction among researchers at all stages of their career development. The conference will be preceded by the Doctoral colloquium, aimed at supporting young researchers and discussing PhD projects, which will be held on Tuesday 24th November, 2009.
